WHEN the forex trade phenomenon hit our shores, very few people gave it a second look. And many have been burnt by dubious quick buck schemes, Ponzi schemes!
However, when Blessing ‘Father Abraham’ Zhou and his forex academy opened their doors to the public, forex trade was wrongfully placed in the same basket as these Ponzi schemes.
But, Kelvin ‘‘Guzu’’ Rabson was smart enough to see that these glitters were all gold! A decision that has paid handsomely! Debonair, charming, educated and well spoken . . . and is now financially stable to boot!
Having entered the forex trading fray some five years back, the 30-year-old Rabson has been slowly building his wealth fund from the proceeds. His evolution from a “ghetto rat” to an accomplished business person has been evident for all to see: the clothes speak for themselves and his scent wafts through rooms before he enters.
How did he get here? How has he managed to grow? How does a lad from Gwabalanda suburb, an alumnus of Milton Junior School and Gifford High School in Bulawayo end on the pages of newspapers?
How can he afford Louis Vuitton, Versace, Gucci, et al? How does this boy from the famed “white house” afford trips to Dubai?
“Even I, did not think it possible. For a while, I was resigned to hustling from hand to mouth and quite possibly just fading into the ghetto fibre. I grew up with very little to my name,” Guzu shared.
But, a chance meeting with Zhou saw him begin to slowly understand the forex trade and thus began his upward mobility. With Zhou, the duo has slowly been building Zhou Forex Academy into a respectable training centre and agent for renowned forex brokers like Derive and Quick Trade.
“When I met Zhou in 2017, he sold me the forex trade dream and although a little skeptical at the time, I bought into it and literary gave myself up to its success, which I had begun to believe would be an opportunity for me to make my way in this world,” Rabson revealed.
“From the moment I began working with Zhou to grow the business and the academy, I saw it slowly begin to expand and my life improving along with it. The number of students increased and we earned the respect of not only our students but people who traded on Derive and Quick Trade and used us for their transactions,” he added.
Rabson told B- Metro that he is focused on building a wealth fund, not just to fund his lifestyle today but to look after his family’s interests in the long term.
“While like everyone else might think I am focused only on being superficially rich, I am looking much further than that. I want to secure my family’s future and this is my primary focus. Anyone can buy a nice car or house, but not all of us can make enough to ensure our family’s comfort in the long term. For me, it’s not just about flaunting my wealth but also about building a legacy for myself and my family.”
