KENYAN comedian Justine Wanda will join King Kandoro at this year’s Shoko Comedy Night for its landmark 15th edition set for Harare Gardens.

Wanda is a Nairobi-based satirist and creator of “Fake Woke With Justine”, a satirical show that combines humour and critical discourse.

Her sharp social commentary combines observational satire with dark humour, tackling everything from election misinformation to macroeconomics across the African continent.

She has an impressive touring history across Africa, including performances in South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Wanda is set to bring a continental perspective to Shoko’s Comedy Night.

Her writing credits include contributions to The Fareed Khimani Show, Buni Media’s XYZ, and Zimbabwe’s Magamba TV.

Running under the theme “The Legacy XV,” leading the bill is award-winning comedian King Kandoro, who returns to the local stage after an

acclaimed international tour.

Kandoro’s performance is expected to be one of the most anticipated moments of the festival, bringing sharp satire and relatable humour to a home audience.

This year’s edition runs from September 25-27 in Harare and Chitungwiza.

It celebrates 15 years of championing free expression, alternative art, and urban culture in Zimbabwe.

“Our Comedy Night line-up is a reflection of the legacy we have been building over 15 years as Shoko Festival,” says Festival Director, Samm Farai Monro AKA Comrade Fatso.

“King Kandoro is an example of that legacy as he grew his comedy career through platforms created by Magamba TV and Shoko and is now one of Zimbabwe’s biggest comedians.”
