Kenya’s suspended deputy Chief Justice resigns

She abandoned her appeal case challenging the recommendations of the Tribunal which was appointed by President Mwai Kibaki to probe her conduct early this year after the tussle with a private security guard at the shopping mall on December 31, 2011.
The immediate former deputy chief justice allegedly threatened to kill Rebecca Kerubo, a private security guard at Village Market, an upmarket shopping mall in Nairobi.
The move by Barasa came a day after the Supreme Court adjourned her appeal case due to absence of her lawyer Judy Guserwa, who was reportedly out of the country. — Xinhua.
