JUSTIN Kersten won the Under-16 Lewis Chitengwa Memorial and the Bobby Blake Trophy Junior Tournament at Wingate on Thursday after a dominant display in which he led from start to finish. The Zimbabwe international junior player put up an impressive display to finish on 136 net score after the two rounds.
Chapman’s Stuart Krog was the runner-up with a good gross score of 147 off a zero handicap. That meant a combined net score of 147 for Krog.
Third place went to Jack Allard who is also a junior international team player after a gross score of 13. Conrad Makoto off a five handicap finished fourth beating Mbongeni Maphosa who finished on 153.
Mayford Sibanda, David Amm, Mahommed Rasheed, David DuPreez and Irvine Nembaware completed the top 10.
The junior golfers were busy last week as they spent the whole week taking part in several events such as the Much Masunda Trophy and the Nomads Junior Championships.
Three girls also took part in the events with Winnet Mudadada finishing on 166 ahead of Margaret Nyamukondiwa and Ethel Chatambudza.
