BISHOP Moyo, a former Bulawayo Wanderers defender has tipped his son for the Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year award.

His son, Kevin Moyo was voted Soccer Star of the Year finalist on Tuesday in a poll that involved PSL coaches, players and football writers.

Kevin plays for Scottland and was present in all the club’s 34 matches and put in a good shift.
He is among the favourites for a top-three spot at the Soccer Star of the Year Banquet set for Harare on December 5.

His former footballer dad is a happy man.

“He had fairly good games this season,” said Bishop.

Bishop said Kevin brought much needed experience to the side.

“Experience was wanted at this flamboyant team,” added Bishop.

He felt his son deserved the big gong.

“He certainly deserves to be the Soccer Star of the Year,” said Bishop.

His other two sons are footballers with Thabani Moyo having played for a number of clubs locally and in Cyprus while Kevin’s twin, Elvis played for Bantu Rovers, FC Platinum and Dynamos.

Elvis has been recovering at home after an early season injury.
