REGGAE Revival artiste Keznamdi has teamed up with multi-platinum Billboard producer Donovan Bennett, aka Don Corleon, to produce his latest single, “Grade”.The song gives an authentic vintage roots reggae sound, complemented by Keznamdi’s hard-hitting lyrics and fast-paced delivery.
“Grade”, which will be released on iTunes this month, pays homage to Keznamdi’s Rastafarian sacrament, marijuana.
“Grade” is Keznamdi’s first single since his critically acclaimed “Bridging the Gap EP”, which peaked at number four on the iTunes reggae album charts and number 10 on the Billboard reggae charts.
The hit-making producer Don Corleon drafted Keznamdi for the project after listening to the EP and being introduced to him by Jah Cure, Keznamdi’s brother-in-law.
Don Corleon seems to have enjoyed working with Keznamdi. “It was a good experience working with Keznamdi. He is such a humble person, so working with him was a pleasure,” he said.
Keznamdi has also come away from the project a better artiste.
“Don is a great producer who takes pride in his work and gives good guidance in the studio,” said Keznamdi.
Though not officially released, the track is already receiving airplay locally and internationally, with great feedback. — Jamaica Gleaner.
