ZIMBABWE international Khama Billiat is slowly rewinding the hands of time in the South African Premiership football as his combination with Keagan Dolly is likely to be a force to reckon with again.
Billiat scored his first league goal this season in the 2-1 victory over Baroka on Wednesday night.
He was also on target in the MTN8 quarter-final match a week ago.
The latest goal is the Warriors winger’s 91st in all competitions in South Africa.
The former Aces Youth Soccer Academy player appears to be working his way to rediscovering his best form and is connecting well with his former teammate at Mamelodi Sundowns, Dolly.
The Warriors attacking midfielder found the opener in the 7th minute after he received a pass from Dolly and finished it off perfectly well.
Chiefs’ Daniel Cardoso extended Amakhosi’s lead in the 27th minute to pick up their first win of the season following a goalless match against TS Galaxy on Sunday.
Amakhosi could have even won 5 – 0 but missed a couple of chances in the first half.
Billiat missed a clear-cut chance while his other attempt was denied by the bar.
Billiat and Dolly have instantly reconnected.
Dolly, Khama and injured Leonardo Castro were previously in the Brazilians books when they terrorised defenders in the South African Premiership and were famously known as “CBD”.
Elsewhere Onesimor Bhasera’s SuperSport climbed on top of the log after beating Knox Mutizwa’s Golden Arrows 3-1.
Bhasera was in the starting line-up while Kuda Mahachi was on the bench.
Mutizwa for the second game in a row came from the bench. He has been relegated by Michael Gumede who has started in both matches.
Sekhukhune, who have a number of Zimbabweans on their books, registered their first win of the season.
Tapiwa Kapini was in goals while Willard Katsande started from the bench. Talent Chawapihwa and Charlton Mashumba were not part of the team.
Ronald Pfumbidzai’s Royal AM suffered their second defeat. Pfumbidzai has not been featured since Bloemfontein Celtics were acquired by TV star Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize. The team has since moved to Durban.
