Khama Billiat scores brace

Mutuma had endured a frustrating wait on the sidelines as he was ineligible to play for Bloemfontein Celtic before his work permit had been issued. Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen had never hidden his admiration for the Warriors forward, whom be believes will change his team’s dimension in attack, and did not hesitate to give Mutuma once the papers were sorted out.

But with Mutuma in the team, Bloemfontein dropped two valuable points to Cuthbert Malajila’s Maritzburg United at Free State Stadium despite starting the game as the more positive of the two sides.

Celtic had a great opportunity to take the lead in the 20th minute, when Letladi Madubanya played the ball across the face of goal, but somehow Maritzburg cleared their lines without Tladi Majake or Mutuma being able to stab the ball home.

Byrone Hendricks put Maritzburg United into the lead just before the break but Mduduzi Nyanda equalised for Celtic just 30 seconds into the second half.
The goal gave Celtic renewed energy and Mutuma had a great chance to give them the lead on the hour mark, after the ball evaded everybody in the box from a free-kick before falling at his feet, but he was unable to direct a strong effort towards goal, from point blank range.

Elsewhere winger Billiat scored in the 86th and 90th minute as Ajax beat Free State 4-2 at Athlone Stadium.
Lebogang Manyama had evened for Ajax in the 33rd minute after Free State had taken the lead through Thapelo Mkhathswa with Abel Nale adding the other goal in the 49th minute for Ajax. Earlier on Saturday, Washington Arubi had a good day in office as University of Pretoria beat Amazulu 3-1.
