Khama Billiat thanks fans

ZIMBABWE international and Scottland FC star, Khama Billiat has thanked fans for their support after clinching the People’s Choice Award at the Annual Sports Awards (ANSA) at the weekend.

The Warriors midfielder beat a field of 14 other nominees.

Billiat was also clinched a similar award the Fans Choice -at the 2024 Castle Soccer Star of the Year awards having also been voted the Second Runner Up after a largely impressive season at Yadah.

While many believe the ANSA focuses more on minority sports, except on exceptional Warriors performances, Billiat changed the script and brought football onto the podium.

He was however, away with Scottland in Bulawayo for their blockbuster Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash with Highlanders.

In a short video yesterday, Billiat said:

“I just want to take this time to thank everyone who voted for me, I have won the ANSA (People’s Choice) award. Thank you very much, I truly appreciate. Together we can make a big difference, thank you.”

Scottland’s Castle Lager Premiership rivals, Chicken Inn took to X to congratulate Billiat while conceding that they under-estimated his influence.

“Our admin questioned this nomination.  On his behalf we apologise. This guy is like Messi , Ronaldo, Winky, Saka.

Should have seen the crowds around him after the game at Mpilo end. Well done

@khama_Billiat11. You are real influence. The people’s choice. No comes close .”
