Media personality and podcaster Khanyi Mars has announced her departure from the Podcast and Chill Network, confirming that she is no longer part of “Music Pulse”.
Mars shared the news in a brief statement posted on her Instagram story, thanking the network following her exit.
“I have officially taken the decision to leave the Podcast and Chill network. I’m no longer part of ‘Music Pulse’. I am extremely grateful to the entire network,” she wrote.
Her departure comes after viewers began noticing her absence from recent episodes of the show.
Long before the rebrand to “Music Pulse”, Mars had already become a familiar face on the platform when the show was still known as “Piano Pulse”. She joined the panel in 2025 following the exit of former co-host Munaka Muthambi.
At the time, she stepped into a space that already had strong personalities attached to it, eventually becoming part of the rotating line-up alongside Thakgi Ledwaba, Nota Baloyi and Sfiso Ndlovu.
Outside of the podcast space, Mars has also remained active within the amapiano scene through her work with “Yano Lyrics”, where she interviews some of the biggest amapiano artists and covers all things amapiano.
A quick scroll through her social media gives a glimpse into her busy life as a media personality, from attending music awards and festivals to creating content.
For now, Mars has not shared the exact reason behind her departure, and there has been no comment from the network or an indication of any fallout between her and the team. This left many wondering why she left the network.
Her exit marks another noticeable shift within the ever-evolving Podcast and Chill Network universe, which has seen different personalities like Muthambi and Seemah move in and out of its growing list of shows.
This pattern has led to speculations from fans who have been sharing their opinions online.
“Nota doesn’t give anyone space to share their opinion. He talks too much for my liking. There is an episode where he cuts her off from sharing her thoughts on the ongoing topic. Always claims he knows all. That’s bad,” said X user @33Music_Plug.
Another user, @MzuvukileMR, commented: “She did well, the addition of Nota really made the other guys take a back seat, especially Mars, her job came down to just guarding Nota.”
While @HaositwePhiri asked: “First Moonaka, Seemah, and now Mars. I’m seeing a pattern, and I do not like the thoughts it’s evoking in me. @Solphendukaa, what’s going on there? Genuinely.” – IOL
