ZBC desperately needs a defibrillator to find a pulse. It goes without saying that the national broadcaster suffered with the birth of Skyz Metro FM.
To actually believe that we barely had a voice five years ago to many voices now feels like a dream.
Congratulations are in order for Khulumani FM, itas been an amazing start. You did manage to get some of us excited with your coming alive.
I remember asking around about a station playing music only and amazing local music for that matter a few weeks ago, well it has come to pass.
Just over a year ago we welcomed Skyz Metro FM and acknowledged how it will make stars out of artistes.
Look at Babongile now! He is a much recognisable brand with even a billboard advertising for TelOne along Plumtree Road. He is the go-to voice in terms of good mornings. Obviously there is a few more from Skyz Metro FM who we are now following as daily celebrities.
Itas refreshing to see ZBC go all out to market Khulumani FM. I have seen two Billboards in the City with pictures of the personalities and their management team. New stars are born.
I know from a distance it may seem this station is here to counter our dear Skyz Metro. But I think not. We just need more voices.
I know in the awards circle when we say Bulawayo Arts Awards are there to compliment National Arts Merit Awards, there is always those voices that say itas a competition.
With these two we require an even friendlier competition, one that will improve quality of our radio and music.
The cake is big enough for more radio stations and both Skyz and Khulumani fill in a very necessary gap.
We love you both therefore, pleaseA make Bulawayo great and artistes will benefit as they fill up venues.
Become bigger stars yourselves.
