Kiglon unhappy with PSL

Castle Lager Premier Soccer fixture against Highlanders at Rufaro tomorrow.

Kiglon were recently dumped by coach Maxwell Jongwe Takaendesa and are insisting that the game should be played on a weekend where they will be able to generate more revenue from the gates.
The side now has Pearson Matipedza as the caretaker coach.
While most teams have reached the halfway mark in the programme, Kiglon still have the outstanding game against Bosso which has been set for tomorrow.

“We were told that we should play the game as a mid-week fixture but honestly we want the game to be moved to the weekend.
“Our game was supposed to come on a weekend and playing a big team like Highlanders is an opportunity for us to raise something from the gates.

“I believe our administrators are trying to push the game to the weekend as it should be,” said Matipedza.
Kiglon chief executive Thompson Dondo last week slammed the big brother syndrome in the league after Bosso were allowed to travel to South Africa for an international friendly against Bloemfontein Celtic at the weekend.

Dondo was unhappy that Highlanders were given permission to travel yet there was an outstanding game to fulfil. Kiglon were set to host Bosso, in match originally scheduled for last week, which was moved to give way to the Cosafa Women’s Championship ties.
League champions Motor Action fulfilled their game against Monomotapa last Monday.

Kiglon had initially wanted to host Bosso at Barbourfields but their request was turned down by the PSL board.
The Harare side also had their request for a friendly against Dynamos turned down.

“If we play during the mid-week, we attract a small crowd than on a weekend. So if the PSL can accept requests from Highlanders and Dynamos, then why can’t they accept out request.
“Maybe because we are small boys, but then it’s not good to play the match under protest,” said Matipedza.

While Matipedza has been thrown into the deep end at Kiglon, Takaendesa Jongwe will also be bracing for his first game in charge at the Green Machine.
The Green Machine face Gunners at Lafarge on Thursday.

Meanwhile, former Dynamos coach Elvis Chiweshe has now begun his duties as coach at Botswana Premiership side Gaborone United.
Former Black Mambas’ technical adviser Madinda Ndlovu has replaced Rahman Gumbo at Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
Gumbo is back home after securing a contract with FC Platinum.
