Killer kombi driver pleads guilty

A kombi driver who allegedly hit a pedestrian, killing him instantly while reversing to evade arrest, has appeared in court charged with culpable homicide and driving a commuter omnibus while under the stipulated age.Takesure Musara (20) is facing a third count of driving a public service vehicle without five years experience.

Musara, who was driving a Nissan Caravan towards Mbare, saw two policemen who were on duty and reversed in a huff in an attempt to evade arrest. He knocked down the pedestrian near the intersection of Chinhoyi and Bank streets.

Musara yesterday appeared before magistrate Mr Arnold Maburo and was remanded in custody to today for sentencing after he pleaded guilty to all the counts.
