CHANTER Killer T has his roots at heart, a local music promoter has said.
After settling in the gated community of Aspindale Park, the Chairman still cares about his Mbare roots.
Speaking to H-Metro, Jack Radics, who has been assisting Killer T from day one, said:
“It feels good when artists remember their roots as is the case with Killer T who was born and bred in Mbare.
“We saw him rising to fame and he really worked hard for what he has at the moment.
“It’s not by default that he is now ranked among the best but he deserves to be saluted for being firm and resolute,” he said.
Radics, who is assisting Killer T to organise his “Back To Roots” gig on Saturday, feels the chanter is really a role model in his home community.
“It’s rare for superstars like Killer T to remember their roots when they are successful, especially in showbiz.
“This weekend, we are hosting him at the Mbare Netball Complex where he invited quite a number of artists as supporting artists.
“This is quite encouraging considering that he is also celebrating with fellow artists from the ghetto,” he said.
Some of those billed to perform at the event include Hwindi Prezident, Silent Killer, Dadza D, Blot and Kinnah.
Top emcees like Godfatha Templeman, Etherton Beenie, Merciless Zimbabwe, Abisha Palmer, DJ Cables and Cymplex are also set to perform at the event.
