The competition belonged to Kings as their players claimed second and third places.
The second prize of $150 went to Kings captain Paul ‘Macheso’ Mutizo while Lameck Chitsuro came third to pocket $100.
Skittle Inn’s Raramai Mangore was fourth and took home $80.
The Bulawayo Pool League fixtures secretary John Shoko said they were overwhelmed with the turnout and were looking forward to an exciting season.
“It was a good number for us. We have never had such participants since the start of the league. We are grateful to the sponsors and we hope we are going to have more of such competitions,” said Shoko.
Losing quarter-finalists Ngoni Mangore of Kings, Nketa’s Hardson Zvimbande and Entumbane duo of Kenny Nyandoro and Prince Mandisekwa got $40 each.
In the women’s category, a lady only identified as Gardner from The Lounge scooped the first prize of $100 with Susan Chizama of ONE coming second and taking home $50.
Second runner-up Trina “Gaga” Dube was rewarded with $30.
Petronela Sibanda of ONE and Exchange’s Shylet Musono were fourth and fifth. For their efforts, they got consolation prizes of $10 each.
Meanwhile, Shoko said the full league programme would resume at the weekend.
