MARRIED life seems to augur well with Kirsty, from the smile to the glow on her face.
The two-time world swimming champion tied the knot a fortnight ago to her long time beau Tyrone Seward, at a private ceremony held in the capital.
Coventry’s father shocked many after he asked for lobola from her beau.
Saturday Leisure spoke to the newly wed who was so excited and happy about her status.
“The day went too quickly for me, before you knew it, it was over.
“Everything happened so fast,” she said.
Kirsty got engaged to Tyrone, now her manager, last August and broke the news on her Facebook page, hours after exchanging vows with her fiancé.
“Tyrone and I are married!” Kirsty posted on her Facebook page, drawing congratulatory messages from her fans and followers.
Kirsty’s fiancé, Seward, was charged one cow and two chickens as lobola by the Olympic swimming gold medallist’s father, Rob.
And he duly obliged and lobola was paid, though no cash was involved.
“The wedding was a family event; it was indeed a wonderful day for us and it was attended by close family and friends only,” said the jovial swimmer.
She could not however, disclose the number of guests and place where the wedding took place and insisted it would remain their secret.
While many brides would have opted to go to an exquisite place outside, far from the madding crowd to be precise, to celebrate their union, Kirsty decided to commemorate the ‘love union’ with friends in the country.
“For our honeymoon we went to the resort town of Kariba, I can rather say it was a “buddymoon” as we went there with our friends from America and spent three nights there,” said Kirsty.
Kirsty met Chinhoyi born and bred Seward through a mutual friend in November 2009 in Johannesburg, where the latter was working. Their relationship grew until they got engaged in London last year on 10 August during the Olympic Games and they exchanged vows on exactly the same day this year.

Kirsty has however indicated that she is not ready to have children anytime soon, but would be venturing into other businesses after she retires from sport.
The 29-year-old said she would be taking part in the Rio 2016 games to be held in Brazil.
“I will be competing at Rio2016 Olympics.
“This Olympics will be about how far I can push myself – it will be about finding the next level. To do this, I need to be confident. I am confident,” she said.
This would probably be her last competition on the international sporting scene.
