A 39-YEAR-OLD Makokoba man was stabbed to death on Tuesday night after a heated dispute over a missing cellphone spiralled out of control.
Police say the now deceased, Melusi Tshuma, was arguing with his 35-year-old uncle who accused him of stealing a handset.
“Another resident, Edmore Gabriel Moyo, overheard the quarrel, emerged from his room with an okapi knife and stabbed Tshuma twice on the left thigh before fleeing,” said Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele.
An ambulance was called but Tshuma was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to hospital for post-mortem.
Moyo was later arrested at around 12.20am after returning home.
“We warn members of the public against using violence and urge them to find peaceful ways of resolving disputes,” said Insp Msebele.
