THE driver of the Koala Park truck, which was involved in the crash that resulted in the death of the St George’s College deputy head boy, is still recovering from the injuries he sustained in the accident.

George Madzika (43) suffered a broken right limb and was admitted at the Borrowdale Trauma Centre.

He was driving a Mercedes Benz 5 tonne truck that collided head-on with a KIA Spotage, which was being driven by the late Ashley Musendekwa, on October 12.

According to a police report, Ashley was overtaking at a certain point along Harare Drive near Artfarm, when his vehicle collided with Madzika’s truck.

“The now deceased tried to swerve to the left, but could not evade the collision. He sustained a broken right limb, broken arms and multiple head injuries,” said the report.
