THE fourth edition of the Kokota Festival which seeks to unearth and promote local and fresh talent is going to be different from the previous ones as event attendees are going to see new faces on stage, event organisers have said.
The forthcoming edition is slated for August 5 at the traditional venue, The Mitre. Entertainment will be provided by Elbee, Majoer Prodi, Doneca-Dadoo, Stormza, Amasalad Elokitshini, and The Low Keys. MCs will be Thaeh Da Loud and Khekhe. On decks will be DJs CP, Keitho, Umlungu Omnyama, Kananjo, Sweeto, Joe, Khumz, Mprincebeatz, King SG, Djay Austin and Vega Small.
One of the organisers, Ibraheem Kuvawoga said the festival is all about giving creatives a platform to socialize while exposing their talent.
“It’s an initiative that focuses on making local creatives meet and interact while showcasing what they do,” said Kuvawoga.
He said preparations for the event are going on well with the stage set to be occupied by diverse creatives.
“The unique thing about this forthcoming edition is that we have new faces from MCs to DJs and performing artistes. We did that because we wanted it to be different from the rest. We’re also working with many people on this event and we can’t wait for the day to come.”
