Kokotsha King Clement Magwaza to celebrate 44th birthday in style

CLEMENT Magwaza, the reigning King of Kokotsha Music, is set to celebrate his 44th birthday in grand style on 12 April 2025 at his Dilankombe homestead in Ngwanyana, Matabeleland South, under the jurisdiction of Chief Tshitshi.

The celebration promises to be a vibrant affair, kicking off with a soccer tournament in the morning. As the sun sets, the festivities will shift into high gear with live music performances by an impressive line-up of local talent, including disco queen Abigail Mabuza, Amathonga Brothers, Marka Ndebele, and special guests from Botswana. The music is expected to keep the crowd entertained well into the early hours of the next day.

In a heartfelt tribute, Mabuza expressed her admiration for Magwaza, describing him as a shining example of artistic excellence. Speaking the Chronicle, she confirmed her attendance at the birthday celebration and praised Magwaza’s dedication and self-respect.

“I’ve learnt so much from Clement. His commitment to his work and his self-respect are qualities I deeply admire. I’m extending an invitation to my colleagues to join me at this special celebration. My band and I are eager to attend,” said Mabuza.

Mabuza expressed enthusiasm for potential collaborations with Magwaza, recalling their shared stage at various events, including the grand opening of eKasi Lami groceries shop in Plumtree and other notable venues.

Magwaza’s birthday celebration is not just a personal milestone but also a testament to his influence and contribution to the music industry, particularly in the Kokotsha genre.
