A 41-YEAR-OLD man from Waterfalls, Harare, has been handed a 15-year prison sentence for the heinous crime of raping and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.
Between April and December 2024, a deeply troubling series of events unfolded as the accused manipulated a bond of trust with his daughter
Under the guise of a simple outing, the accused lured her to a riverbank where he made inappropriate romantic advances.
When she rejected his disturbing proposals, the situation escalated into an unthinkable assault.
He intimidated his daughter by threatening to kill her if she revealed the sexual abuse.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, “The assaults continued multiple times, including during the absence of his wife, who is the victim’s stepmother.”
The truth began to unravel when the young victim got pregnant and informed her grandmother, initially attributing it to a relationship with a boyfriend.
