A KOMBI driver from Bulawayo has been arrested for allegedly raping his lover’s 17-year-old little sister.

A court on Thursday heard how Nqobani Ncube (27) of Nketa 7 suburb went into the teenager’s room and woke her up claiming that he wanted to send some videos from her cellphone.

He then covered her mouth with his hand and allegedly raped her once. Ncube was not asked to plead when he appeared before Western Commonage Magistrate Miss Tancy Dube facing a charge of rape.

He was remanded in custody to August 17.

Prosecuting, Ms Magret Takawira said Ncube covered the teenager’s mouth with his hand and raped her once.

“Accused went into the complainant’s bedroom and asked for her cellphone claiming that he wanted to send some videos. Complainant fell asleep while accused was still in her room.

“He suddenly covered her mouth with his hand and raped her once,” said Ms Takawira.

She added: “Complainant narrated her ordeal to her friend. Her friend told her aunt who reported the matter to the teenager’s aunt. The matter was reported to the police by the teenager’s aunt.”

In her statement, the complainant said after the incident, her sister came to her room summoning her boyfriend to their bedroom but he refused claiming that he was still sending some videos.

“As my sister left the room, Nqobani wore his trousers but she did not notice because my room has no light. I told my friend about the incident the following morning and she told her aunt who called my aunt and told her,” read the statement.
