AN omnibus operator almost lost his crown jewels during an alleged beating by cops who reportedly accused him of influencing touts to beat up cops.

After the alleged police brutality, Malvin Ncube (26) from Pumula South is lucky to be using a catheter to pass urine.

He was in pain and also embarrassed to undress when showing B-Metro the job that was done on his body.

a?They handcuffed my conductor Mbongiseni Zulu when beating him up. IA politely asked why they were beating a man who did not resist arrest, then they turned to me,a? Ncube said.

The cops are said to have probed Ncube why he was acting like an advocate for touts in the area. Suddenly, he was in for a beating of a lifetime.

a?They put my legs on top of an iron bar before havingA a go at me all over the body and private parts,a? Ncube said.

The most painful part of the beating came from a female cop.

a?She stepped on my tummy with a stiletto when her colleagues forced a piece of cloth into my mouth. This was to stop me from screaming when anotherA beat me with a sjambok,a? he added.

The beating continued.

a?They kicked my ribs and hit the handcuffs using a broomstick such that they cut deeply into my flesh,a? he said, adding that he was only saved six hours later when they told him to pay a fine of $10 for misconduct.

Ncube reported the matter at Pumula Police Station before seeking medical attention.

B-Metro is in possession of a medical report written by Dr Maponde and Dr Magagula stating that Ncube could not pass urine, sustained injuries on the buttocks and private parts and he was referred to a urologist for assessment.

He went to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) where a catheter was inserted on him. X-ray results show that he had fractured ribs.

Bulawayo Police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango said she did not entertain people who run to the press when they have problems with the police.

a?If you had known you were not going to call me. I donat entertain people who run to the press when they haveA got problems with the police,a? Simango said.
