TWO heartless kombi drivers plying the Old Lobengula-City CentreA route reportedly took turns to rape a Mpopoma Form Three pupil.
The 16-year-old girl had boarded the commuter omnibus from town to Old Lobengula when the two drivers forbade her from alighting at her drop off point.
Having hatched their plan, they drove off to a secluded place where they forcibly took turns to rape her without using protection.
After satisfying their sexual zest, they pushed her out of the car and drove off, leaving her to nurse wounds.
She proceeded home and narrated her ordeal to her guardian who then accompanied her to the police station to report the matter.
Investigations led to the arrest of two drivers Andrew Phiri (21) and Bhekimpilo Phakathi (31) both of Old Lobengula.
Phiri and Phakathi appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube facing rape charges.
The court heard that on 8 June at around 7pm, the complainant boarded a commuter omnibus from town to Old Lobengula.
She reportedly told them to stop the car at Njube turn-off as she wanted to disembark, but Phakathi who was the driver refused to stop.
They drove off to Masiyephambili road and parked their car at a secluded place where Phakathi closed and held her mouth so she could not shout for help while Phiri pulled her skirt up and raped her once.
When he was done, he moved and held the girlas mouth while Phakathi did the same heinous act without protection as well.
Having achieved their mission, they pushed the helpless girl out of the vehicle and disappeared into thin air.
The magistrate remanded them in custody to 15 July.
