Korean robbed of US$25 000, i-pads

The four armed robbers got away with a Samsung Galaxy cellphone, two i-pads, a Sony camera, two Samsung notebooks and three external computer hard drives.
Deputy national police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka yesterday said the incident occurred at around 7.30pm while Yohan Lee was having dinner with his collegaue.

“The complainant and his co-worker were having dinner when four armed robbers who were wearing masks got entry into the house through an open door,” he said.
One of the armed robbers produced a pistol while the other one had an iron bar and ordered the victims to lie down.

They complied and they were tied with fibre ropes before the gang demanded cash and valuables.
After ransacking the house, the gang disappeared, leaving the two tied in the room.

Chief Supt Mandipaka said the two were untied by a domestic worker who was coming from an all-night prayer.
A report was made and no arrests have been made.

Chief Supt Mandipaka said they were appealing to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the robbers to contact CID Homicide at Harare Central Police Station or any nearest police station.

Police have been urging the public to ensure that they put adeqaute security measures at their homes to avoid such cases.
Members of the public were also urged to lock their doors during the night and to avoid keeping large amounts of money in their homes.

Last week, police arrested three suspected armed robbers who were believed to be terrorising supermarkets and service stations in Harare and Bulawayo, in separate incidents.
One of the armed robbers was shot and injured in Bulawayo after he tried to exchange fire with detectives who ambushed him at his home.

Philani Dube (23), Jacob Washington Ndebele (31) who were both arrested in Bulawayo and Lovelage Chigagure (28) who was arrested in Chitungwiza were still assisting with investigations.
