KRIP Hop Nation, an international movement advocating for inclusivity in the arts, is now in Zimbabwe and it is being led by someone whose life it helped transform.
The global organisation, which funds and supports artists living with disabilities, has officially launched its Zimbabwean chapter.
It marks a major milestone in the country’s push for disability rights and artistic empowerment.
And, at the helm of this new frontier is Tinotenda “TinnTinn” Mudarikwa, a Bulawayo-based motivational speaker and musician who has now stepped into the role of empowering others, just as he was once empowered.
The organisation was founded by Leroy Moore, an African-American writer and poet based in California.
His mission is simple yet powerful: to provide a platform for people living with disabilities to finance their artistry, pursue their passion and fully realise their dreams.
For Mudarikwa, this mission is personal. As someone who lives with a rare disease and has walked the long, challenging road of artistic self-realisation, the opportunity to lead the local chapter is not only an honour, it is a chance to give back.
“The founder of Krip Hop has always been supportive, not only financially, but emotionally as well. He helped me build this chapter and continue my music journey.
“Now it’s time to bring in more artists to benefit,” said Mudarikwa.
Through Krip Hop, Mudarikwa found more than just financial assistance.
He found mentorship, belief and the kind of support system that many artists with disabilities often go without. Now, having been uplifted, he is focused on doing the same for others across the country.
“There are so many people living with disabilities who are gifted artistically but lack funding and support to chase their dreams. I’m excited that Krip Hop has reached Zimbabwe to help us,” he added.

The newly-launched Zimbabwean chapter is built on a multi-pronged vision. Mudarikwa has been tasked with ensuring that artists with disabilities throughout Zimbabwe gain access to the resources and exposure necessary to thrive creatively.
As part of its strategic plan, Krip Hop will facilitate cultural exchanges between artists with disabilities in Zimbabwe and their counterparts across Africa, the USA, and Europe.
These collaborations are designed to foster mutual learning, creative growth, and global exposure for local talents.
In addition to international exchange, the organisation will also play a major role in marketing and publishing artists’ work.
Krip Hop will ensure that music and creative content produced by its affiliated artists is made visible and accessible on all major streaming platforms.
Plans are also in place to launch a vibrant YouTube channel that will showcase the creative output of the artists they work with.
“Krip Hop Nation’s vision for Zimbabwe is multi-pronged. It plans to fund music production and artistic projects by creatives with disabilities, promote cultural exchange between Zimbabwean artists and their counterparts in Africa, the USA, and Europe, and assist with marketing and publishing, ensuring artists’ work is accessible across streaming platforms,” said Mudarikwa.
One of the most exciting upcoming initiatives is a collaborative music compilation project.
This will bring together emerging disabled creatives and seasoned artistes to co-create music through songwriting and composition workshops.
These sessions will culminate in professional studio recordings of duets, trios, and group performances.
“This will be done soon via a workshop. After that, the artists will get into the studio and record together,” he revealed.
Krip Hop Zimbabwe is actively profiling artists living with disabilities across the nation.
This process will not only help build a database of talent but will inform the organisation’s long-term support strategies.
In addition, Krip Hop is also working on a documentary that will spotlight the lived experiences of disabled artists in Zimbabwe as they strive to succeed in a competitive and often exclusionary entertainment industry.
