However, revellers were up on their feet the whole night as the four DJ’s kept churning out brand new R‘n’B, hip hop, house and ragga tunes in the one hour sets they played until the wee hours of Sunday morning. First on the decks, at 10pm, was DJ Luscious who played deep house tracks to get people into the party mood.
The young DJ belted tracks like Seng’khathele by South African DJ, Euphonik which proved popular with the crowd.
At about 10.30pm DJ Mpho was on the ones and two’s where he kicked of his set with 3 Kings’, Seqamabhilidi which sent the crowd wild.
There after he went on to belt out the latest hip hop and R’n’B tracks.
At about 11.30pm Joe da OG went to the decks and showed why he has been in the game for 15 years.
He played a blend of ragga, R’n’B and dance beats that proved popular with the sizable crowd that was at the night spot.
He then played the theme song of the night by Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dog, Young Wild and Free.
After the event DJ Joe da OG, who last week celebrated 15 years in the business, said the turn out for the Jam was good.
He said what was pleasing to note was response from the crowd as the dance floor was packed.
Joe said the theme of the Jam was derived from a song celebrating being young and free.
“We are bringing people together to have fun. I brought together talented DJ’s in Lacusto, Mpho and Luscious to keep the crowd jumping and celebrate the night,” said Joe.
