MUSICIAN Bio “DT” Mudimba, of the Kujatajata fame, is billed to headline the anti-drug abuse musical gala at Harare Gardens on Saturday.

He will share the stage with Hosiah Chipanga, Portifa Mopo, Josphat Somanje, Lelo Langa, Rudzi The First, and Sir Ganz, courtesy of Youth Against Drugs and Substance Abuse Zimbabwe.

The campaign, which starts around mid-morning till sunset, is free of charge.

In an interview with H-Metro, Youth Against Drugs and Substance Abuse Zimbabwe media director, Mlilo Joyinani, said all was set for the gig.

“Everything is now on course and we are just waiting for Mudimba, who is working on a drug awareness song, for the day.

“The theme song will be used during our campaigns and it is our hope that it will touch the hearts of many.

“Baba Chipanga is also working on a remix of the theme song Siya Mbanje Urarame and I believe that on Saturday, everything will be fine,” he said.

Joyinani, who has been spearheading the campaign along with other partners, said unity and cooperation was needed to end drug and substance abuse.

“The world, and responsible authorities, must continue to ensure that everyone is educated before it is too late.

“Through sharing information on different media platforms, we ensure that the messages reach all people, including those in marginalised areas,” he said.

“We need to educate our kids as much as we can.

“As much as we try to invest in their future, mutoriro is destroying everything we are fighting but we won’t give up on the fight.”
