MBADA Golf Society captain Kwangwari Kwangwari and his partner Moses Nzapu emerged winners of the Masiyephambili Junior School annual golf     tournament that was held at Harry Allen Golf Club on Saturday. The duo carded a total score of 44 that saw them relegating Canaan Maphosa and Victor Tall, who scored 43, to second place.
Maphosa and Tall counted out Arthur Ngangira and Chris Dembetembe as well as Lorraine Huwa and Englington Mamlowe who also scored 43.
A four way count out system was used.

“We are obviously excited by our win and want to thank the organisers of this event and hope that they will continue with the tournament next year,” said an elated Nzapu.

Kwangwari, who had a fruitful golfing weekend after he came first in an Old Mutual Golf tournament held at the same place on Friday, said they will be defending their title at the 2014 version of the tournament.
A Four Ball Better Ball format was used.

Four Ball is a match pitting two teams of two players (a total of four balls being played, hence the name) against each other using better-ball scoring.
All four players play their own ball throughout and at the end of each hole, the low score between the two partners on each team is that team’s score.
In the individual prizes, Huwa, a teacher at Masiyephambili Junior School, won the longest drive in the ladies competition while the Matabeleland Golf Society president Mufaro Chivonovoni was the winner in the men’s section.

Petra Primary School pupils and brothers Reuben and Cyle Rootman scored 76 and 87 to come first and second respectively in the juniors’ section.
Crispen Ntoto came first in the putting competition for Masiyephambili Junior School pupils with his younger brother David and Shanice Ndlovu coming second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, the deputy headmistress of the school Judith Ncube thanked the Harry Allen management for consenting to their request to use the course.

The school was fundraising to build a school hall and its target for the golf tournament was to raise between $4000 and $5 000.
