Kwekwe man forces wife to drink poisonous substance, charged with murder

29-year-old Norest Ndhlovu, of Qagani Village, under Malisa, Silobela was arraigned before the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court facing murder charges.

It is reported that during a domestic dispute on May 17, 2024, at around 9pm, Ndhlovu assaulted his now-late wife, forcing her to swallow a poisonous substance.

Despite being hospitalised and initially discharged, the health of his wife continued to deteriorate, leading to her constant visits to the hospital.

She eventually passed on due to the effects of the poison on March 14, 2025.

Subsequently, Ndhlovu was arrested and is currently remanded in custody, he is set to appear in court again on April 17.
