Dancer and songstress Sandra “Sandy” Ndebele-Sibindi says she cannot wait to perform at the 45th Uhuru Gala set for April 18 at Mutora Grounds in Gokwe.

Speaking to the Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Sandy said, “I can’t wait to perform in Gokwe, where the rural community has been yearning for such great events. ”

“It’s always a marvel to see people in rural areas being exposed to big stages, lights, and powerful sound. These galas are more than just musical celebrations; they represent history being made in our country.”

Reflecting on her connection with Gokwe, Ndebele said: “I last performed in Gokwe over 10 years ago, and you can imagine how I feel being reunited with my fans there. We are going to deliver our best performance of the night.”

This year’s celebrations are being held under the theme “Zim@45: Devolve and Develop Together Towards Vision 2030,” and are expected to be a vibrant showcase of Zimbabwean culture and unity. The gala will feature a stellar line-up of some of the country’s most celebrated artistes, including Sulumani Chimbetu, Mark Ngwazi, Jah Master, Andy Muridzo, Chief Hwenje, Tendai Dembo, Sasha Madhuve, and Agartha Murudzwa.
