Kwekwe MP Matambanadzo to be recalled

Zanu PF Midlands Province is seeking to recall Kwekwe central Member of Parliament Cde Masango “Blackman” Matambanadzo and to reduce him to a mere card carrying member over gross indiscipline and violating the party’s constitution.
Cde Matambanadzo is being accused of disrupting party meetings, holding unsanctioned meetings, inciting violence against senior members of the party and making derogatory and defamatory statements against senior party officials.

He is also charged for contravening Article 3 Section 18 (5) of the party as well as failing to attend provincial co-ordinating committee meetings.

Cde Matambanadzo appeared before a disciplinary hearing last week on Thursday where it was recommended that he be recalled and reduced to a card carrying member after being stripped of his position in his ward in Kwekwe.
Sunday News is reliably informed that the matter would be taken to the Politburo to uphold the decision.

If the highest decision making body outside congress resolves to uphold the decision by the provincial executive, Kwekwe Central parliamentary constituency would be declared vacant.

Zanu PF Midlands acting chairman Cde Kizito Chivamba confirmed that Cde Matambanadzo was summoned for a hearing together with Zvipozvomweya Apostolic Church founder and leader Archbishop Kandros Mugabe who is also facing allegations of holding unsanctioned party meetings at his home with ulterior motives.

“Cde Matambanadzo came for disciplinary hearing on Wednesday and we made our recommendations. Archbishop Mugabe also came for disciplinary hearing on the same day facing his own allegations. Cde Matambanadzo is facing a wide range of misconduct allegations and it is high time we rein him in.

“We want to whip our members into line so that we do not have gross indiscipline and commotion. The matter will be tabled by the Politburo which has the final say on our recommendations,” he said.

Cde Chivamba said the party had suspended 11 other members of the party for allegedly holding unsanctioned meetings and creating parallel party structures.

Cdes Honest Diura, Jabulani Magudze, Shepherd Mazambani, Stanley Zibako, Lisbern Jaure, Phambani Phiri, Bridget Chivi, Mclean Nyamucherera, Dennis Chikomba, Prosper Mafumisa and Munyaradzi Murada were charged for contravening Article 3 Section 18 (1)(2) and (5) of the party’s constitution.

Cde Matambanadzo is being charged with assaulting a fellow Member of Parliament, Cde Owen “Mudha” Ncube at Amaveni shopping centre in Kwekwe in July last year.

Cde Matambanadzo, who was in the company of his bodyguard, Beden Mawire (26) and an unidentified accomplice, assaulted Cde Ncube with fists and he also head butted him.

The Gokwe-Kana legislator sustained a swollen left eye due to the assault.
