Kwekwe police arrest three robbers, recovers property worth thousands

Police in Kwekwe have nabbed three robbers and recovered household property worth about US$3 000.

Midlands Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the arrest of Mathias Marange (Alias Chikule aged 21), Ronald Masendu (25) and Auther Marima (36), all from Mbizo, Kwekwe.

“A Zimbabwe Republic Police special crime crack team in Kwekwe District arrested a gang of three suspects on January 25. They detected a chain of break-ins in various premises. Property worth thousands of dollars was stolen,” he said.

Inspector Mahoko said property valued at US$3 000 has been recovered.

He said the property was linked to seven different break-ins and has been identified by its owners.

“Some is yet to be identified and we also expect to continue making more recoveries as investigations continue,” he said.

Inspector Mahoko invited people who had their premises broken into in Mbizo and surrounding areas to come to Mbizo Police Station to identify their items.

Some of the recovered items include a white Fotomate projector (2019 model), a silverA02 Samsung cellphone, a black Huawei cellphone, black stage disco lights, a Tolsen tool box, four 12 volts car batteries, a Macce black and blue mountain bike, one 100 watts flood light, 47 pieces of T-handle wrench screwdrivers, four electricity breakers, a blue 5kg gas tank, and a Toyota car radio.
