Kwekwe’s Amagents subdue Chronicle

The evenly balanced match started at a fast pace with Chronicle chief striker and editor Innocent Gore causing mayhem in the visitors’ defence. Not to be outdone, his counterpart, B-Metro editor, Limukani “Limo” Ncube was a constant threat with his defence splitting passes.

Match referee, veteran radio personality Ezra “Tshisa” Sibanda, who was “flown” all the way from United Kingdom, had a good game.

Photographer Fortune Muzarabani played a blinder of a match as captain in the Chronicle midfield with Fungai Muderere, who lasted the whole 90 minutes, also giving a good account of himself.

The first half ended goalless as the two teams failed to utilise chances that they created.

In the second half, Chronicle team manager, Mehleli Dube, made a triple substitution replacing an injured Innocent Moyo and Makhosi Sibanda, with Leonard Ncube, Martin Mpofu and Tshili entering the fray.

The substitution almost paid dividends as the trio ran riot in the visitors’ defence pegging them back for 20 minutes, but could not get the elusive goal.

From then on, action swung from right to left with Amagents trying to find a goal to consolidate their lead and Chronicle looking for the equaliser.
