THE Zimbabwe senior women’s cricket side, the Lady Chevrons, are bracing for a showdown as they host the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a six-match white-ball battle at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo next week.
The action-packed series will see the two nations lock horns in four One Day Internationals (ODIs) followed by two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
UAE are expected to jet into Bulawayo on Monday. Before the main event, they will take on Steve Mangongo’s Zimbabwe High Performance team in a 50-over warm-up match at Bulawayo Athletic Club (BAC) on Wednesday.
The series officially roars to life on Friday 26 September, with the ODIs slated for 26, 28 and 30 September and 2 October.
The T20 showdowns will cap off the tour on 5 and 6 Ovtober.
This home series will be a crucial test for the Lady Chevrons as they fine-tune their game ahead of upcoming international assignments. – @brandon_malvin
