Zimbabwe suffered five wicket defeat in a nail biting fixture against UAE at the Wanderers Sports Ground in Namibia on Tuesday.

The defeat was the second for the Lady Chevrons in three matches after losing to the hosts of the tri-nation series Namibia on Sunday.

It was a sweet revenge for the UAE ladies national team, who had lost to Zimbabwe on Saturday.

After winning the toss, UAE sent Zimbabwe to bat first before restricting them to 145 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

Zimbabwe lost their first wicket at the end of the second over after opener Kelis Ndlovhu was stumped by Theerta Satish.

Despite the early setback, the Lady Chevrons managed to get their footing and added 73 runs for the second wicket in 10 overs before Modester Mupachikwa was caught by Satish off a Esha Oza delivery.

Beloved Biza was dismissed two runs shy of a half-century after being bowled by Kavisha Egodage in the 16th over and Zimbabwe were restricted to 145 runs in 20 overs.

Defending 145, Zimbabwe had a good start and claimed two wickets in the second over.

However, UAE managed to stabilize their innings and only lost their third wicket in the 19th over as they needed 13 runs from eight balls with seven wickets at hand.

Zimbabwe did well to get two wickets in the final over but lost the game to extras.
