deal yesterday appea-red before the courts.
Priscilla Rwakanda (34) appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Don Ndirowei who remanded her out of custody to April 4 on US$200 bail.
Prosecutor Ms Svodai Kadivirire alleges that sometime last year Rwakanda misrepresented to the complainant that she was the director of Flitswich Trading (Pvt) Ltd (trading as Plastique Industries), in which she said she had 44 percent stake. In September, the complainant allegedly approached Rwakanda with a view to supplying Plastique Industries with raw materials. Rwakanda allegedly misrepresented that there were markets for biscuit trays in Zambia and it was an ideal business venture.
The State says she induced the complainant to invest US$25 000 saying the return would be US$36 000.
Rwakanda gave her a Stanbic Bank account under the name Flitswitch and the complainant deposited US$7 500, the court heard. On October 13, it is alleged, the complai-nant deposited another US$16 500 and US$1 000. – CR.
