Lafarge wins prestigious award

LISTED cement maker, Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe, has scooped the Africa Best Employer Brand Award for 2014.
The award was presented by the Employer Branding Institute in Mauritius recently.This prestigious award is one of the top international awards granted to companies that demonstrate excellence in provision of integrated work environment that caters for employees’ aspirations and motivates them to translate success.

Amal Tantawi, Lafarge’s chief executive officer said the company won the award as a result of its “celebrated focus on diversity and inclusion, investing in people development, health and safety among other factors”. The firm employs 249 workers.

She said Lafarge prides itself in providing an environment where employees are able to participate in and contribute to the progress and success of the organisation.

“Diversity and inclusion is part of the company’s heritage and helps us to achieve our goals,” she added.

The Africa Best Employer Brand Awards winners are selected by a panel of judges of experts in employment and human resources from various bodies.
