A BUDIRIRO landlady has been dragged to court for denying her tenants access to the toilet and water.
Nothando Kanga claimed herA landlady, Dorothy Jimu, has been harassing her and her family for months.
She claimed she was confused since she has been paying all her bills on time.
“She locked the toilets and never told us the reason and my family can’t relieve ourselves at home.
“We have resorted to using our neighbour’s toilets because we can’t survive without these basic needs.
“The water she is denying us is from a borehole drilled by the community,” said Kanga.
She added:
“When she first locked the toilet, she forced me to go to work without bathing.
“I have never skipped paying rentals for the whole year and I don’t know why she is treating me this way.”
Jimu said she locks the bathroom and cuts the water supply in order to fix Kanga.
“I locked the water and the toilet because she allows her friends from the neighbourhood to misuse them.
“She never told me that she went to work without bathing.
“I will unlock the toilet and the tap,” she said.
Magistrate Judith Taruvinga granted a protection order against Jimu and ordered her to give her tenants access to water and the toilet.
