The Zimbabwe National Army has today held a funeral parade in honour of Brigadier-General Jonathan Hungwe (Rtd), who died in Mwenezi last Friday. He was 68.
The funeral parade for Brig-Gen (Rtd) Hungwe, who succumbed to sudden death at his farm in Mwenezi, was held at 4 Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Masvingo.
Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lieutenant-General Walter Tapfumaneyi, was the chief mourner.
Lt Gen Tapfumaneyi, accompanied by Zimbabwe National Army Chief of Staff Quartermaster Staff Major General Simo Maseko, led proceedings at the funeral parade in honour of the late senior army officer.
The late senior army officer was also a war veteran and his Chimurenga name was Vhito Masango Ferrari.
He joined the struggle in 1978. The ZNA Commander led a funeral procession to the parade square at 4 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, where he laid a wreath on the casket bearing the remains of the late Brig Gen(Rtd).
