THE late Chris “Shule Shule” Nguluvhe, a well-known Beitbridge businessperson, has been honoured with a Sundrive Lifetime Achievement Award (posthumous) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to business, philanthropy and community development.

The accolade was received by his family, who described the honour as special and a fitting tribute to the late Nguluvhe’s kindness, leadership and generous spirit.

Fondly remembered by many as Shule Shule, the late businessman was celebrated at the recent Sundrive Business Summit Awards as more than a successful entrepreneur — he was a cornerstone of the Beitbridge community, deeply committed to people, giving selflessly and supporting countless community initiatives.

His son, Dereck, described his father as a man whose hands built, whose heart gave and whose presence inspired.
“From business to charity, from mentorship to community development, he stood for one unwavering principle — the progress of others. We celebrate not only his remarkable achievements but also his enduring spirit of generosity and his boundless love for humanity. His name will forever remain a symbol of compassion and community excellence throughout Matabeleland South,” he said.

Dereck added that the award serves as a motivating factor for the family and their business operations.

“It gives us motivation to excel and go further so that we can keep earning awards, reflecting my father’s dedication to his work,” he said.

Mr Nguluvhe was widely known for supporting community initiatives, including Beitbridge’s community radio station, Lotsha FM, and the local football outfit, Dulivhadzimu United FC.

His philanthropic efforts extended to numerous social responsibility programmes across the district, touching countless lives.

He also had diverse business interests spanning customs and clearing, trucking, livestock production, accommodation and fast-food outlets. Nguluvhe’s contributions to these sectors played a significant role in driving economic activity in the region.
