LATEST: BCC, Ministry of health and ministry of Primary and Secondary education rolls out vaccination programme

BULAWAYO City Council in conjunction with Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has rolled out a vaccination programme for 16 and 17-year-olds.

In a statement Bulawayo Town Clerk, Mr Christopher Dube said the vaccination programme will be conducted at municipal clinics, central hospitals, Mater Dei Hospital, all secondary schools and outreach points.

Specialists have recommended the vaccination of 16 and 17-year-olds with Sinovac vaccine.

“The City of Bulawayo in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and partners will be conducting a vaccination programme targeting the 16 to 17 years age group. During the campaign, the vaccination to the 18 years and above will continue.

“Based on the available scientific data in line with the Medicines Control Authorities of Zimbabwe guidance, the specialists have recommended the vaccination of the 16 and 17 years age group with the Sinovac vaccine,” he said.
