ONE of the biggest football clubs in the country, Highlanders have in partnership with Sunset Marketing launched their own mealie meal brand, Bosso Roller Meal.
Speaking at the unveiling at the club’s offices, Highlanders treasurer Donald Ndebele said the deal will play a part in assisting fund some of their projects as well as clear some of their debts. Highlanders will get a 50 profit from the sale of the branded mealie meal.
“We are getting something out of this deal so that we can fund some of our projects and write off some of our outstanding debt. On the profit margins, Highlanders is getting 50 percent of the actual profit,’’ said Ndebele.
Sunset Marketing sales manager, Mufaro Msipa said they already have 500 tones of the Bosso Roller Meal and they were looking at distributing it to all parts of the country.
“We are happy to be associated with Highlanders and we are proud supporters of Highlanders. The mealie meal is already there we have already packaged them, we have about five hundred tones in stock at the moment and we are already working on the supply chain. We expect that Highlanders supporters, everyone in Matabeleland and in the country will enjoy the mealie meal,’’ said Msipa.
Local clubs have over the years failed to maximise on their popularity to generate revenue and the move by Highlanders could be a step in the right direction which could assist the oldest football club in the country to clear some of its debts which are close to one million dollars- @Mdawini_29
