Tendai Rupapa Senior Court Reporter
Bikita West legislator Munyaradzi Kereke who is accused of raping an 11-year-old girl in 2010 at gun point, threatened the then RBZ head of financial intelligence inspectorate, evaluation and security (FIIES), Mr Mirirai Chiremba, with unspecified action for refusing to record a wrong date for the gun’s return, the court heard today.

It is alleged Kereke pointed the gun at the girl and threatened to shoot her if she did not comply with his orders.

But in his defence he denied being in possession of the pistol, arguing that he returned it to RBZ on June 14, 2010.

However, Mr Chiremba in his evidence said Kereke forced him to sign a provision of receipt dated June 14 purporting that Kereke had brought back the pistol on that date.

“He threatened me saying that if I did not sign he was going to fix me and as an advisor to the Governor then, he was a powerful man hence I signed under duress,” he said.

Mr Chiremba said he took the pistol on August 22, 2010 and locked it in his office safe intending to hand it over to RBZ head of security Mr Grasham Muradzikwa.
