THE Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has partnered with Zimpapers for this year’s annual Cancer Power Walk which was held last Saturday.
The Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk, which is in its 10th year-running ran simultaneously across six cities — Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, Masvingo, and Chinhoyi under the theme, “United by Unique”.
Zimpapers public relations and events manager Mrs Pauline Matanda confirmed the coming on board of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints saying this is a milestone collaboration in the fight against cancer.
“We are excited to have the Latter-Day Saints Church joining hands with us in this noble cause. Their support reinforces our collective effort to raise awareness and mobilise resources towards cancer care,” she said.
The Cancer Power Walk continues to grow as a flagship corporate social responsibility event, drawing participants from various sectors and backgrounds.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints constitute a diverse community of people across different parts of the world including Zimbabwe with a shared faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
While the Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk reached a significant milestone of 10 years, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Zimbabwe has also reached a significant milestone by establishing it’s first temple in the country. Temples mark an important turning pint signifying the church’s growth numerically and spiritually. Like bible times when temples were places to make closer connections with God, temples in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serve the same purpose. The Harare Zimbabwe temple will be hosting an open house from the 22nd of January to the 7th of February 2026, all are welcome to attend.
