Comedian Comic Elder, whose real name is Leroy Tadiwanashe Zaware, has been gifted US$150 000 to buy himself a house by businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
This comes after Comic Elder received a brand-new Ford Raptor from President Mnangagwa on Saturday, following his triumph in winning the Best Comedy Award at the National Youth Symposium.
According to Chivayo, laughter remains the purest therapy known to mankind.
He stated that Comic Elder is among the youthful comedians who have become the unsung healers of our nation, keeping people entertained through skits.
“Today, I wish to celebrate an extraordinary young man. His natural humour has earned him great admiration across the country, and recently, he received the highest recognition from His Excellency, President Mnangagwa, at the National Youth Symposium,” Chivayo said.
“As a small token of my appreciation for your hard work and comedic talent, which makes us laugh each day, and more specifically, which made the President laugh, please go and see my lawyer, Sikhumbuzo Mpofu on Friday to collect US$150 000 in cash, so you can buy yourself a decent house in any area of your choice,” added Chivayo.
The businessman emphasised that this gesture serves as an inspiration to all young people, showing that with patience, hard work, and passion, their time to succeed will certainly come.
