Learner seeks financial assistance

A 21-year-old wheelchair-bound learner is appealing for financial support to the tune of US$500 to enable him to start a project that will sustain him and his family.

Maxwell Chibida is a Form 4 learner at Zengeza High 1 in Chitungwiza.

He is presently staying at Mother Easter Trust, a non-profit organisation in Chitungwiza.

Maxwell is the second child out of five children in his family.

Three of them were born with disabilities and they all use wheelchairs.

He wishes to embark on a project that will sustain himself and other family members.

“We have a situation which is difficult to accept. My parents stay in Rutenga, Masvingo Province. They are both unemployed and they are also taking care of my younger brothers who are disabled like me.

“We were born like that. Our bones are weak, so we cannot walk because of that condition. We are, therefore, appealing for financial support so that I embark on a business to support my family,” he said.
