Lecturer’s family at war

CHINHOYI University of Technology Dean of Tourism, Professor Patrick Mamimine’s wife, Barbra, has applied for a protection order against her visually-impaired son, Anderson.

Barbra said Anderson has a history of harassing her, threatening to beat her up and to cut her ears with a knife.

She also accused him of threatening to smash her car’s windscreen and using derogatory language against her.

“He is interfering with my freedom of movement at home and threatening to unleash hell on me to meet whatever demands he makes at any time and making fictitious allegations,” said Barbra

“Your Worship, I pray for a protection order against him to ensure that all the above mentioned evil acts are not perpetrated against me, or his father, or any other member of the nuclear family.” She said the protection order would ensure her safety and peace of mind.

However, Anderson, in his affidavit, said he was the victim and sought a protection order against his father.

He said he has had disputes with his father since 2013 over Varsity Blues, a club they co-owned. “Ever since my father has made it a policy to harass, insult or threaten me on a daily basis.”

He said his father has been stalking him and threatening all his social and business associates.

“I no longer have freedom and live in constant fear for my life,” said Anderson. In light of the above, I pray this honourable court grants a protection order against my father.”

The case is set for Friday.
