MEMBERS of the House of Assembly and Senators have converged in Victoria Falls for the 2022 pre-budget seminar, which begins in Victoria Falls from today until next Tuesday.

Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube is expected to present the 2022 national budget on the 25th of next month.

In an interview, Finance and Economic Development chief director of communications Dr Clive Mphambela said: “The Parliamentarians are in Victoria Falls today up to Tuesday next week for the pre-budget seminar. But that seminar is organised by Parliament, so get hold of Parliament for more details.”

Efforts to get a comment from the Clerk of Parliament Mr Kennedy Chokuda were unsuccessful as he did not respond to written questions.

Over the years, the pre-budget seminars have been held as a precursor to the next fiscal policy presentation.

The seminars provide a platform for legislators to give input into the next fiscal policy statement taking into account the key issues raised during the public consultations that were conducted across the country. – KazungaOliver
