PARLIAMENTARIANS should serve the people selflessly and rally behind President Mugabe who has been a towering figure in the country’s politics and national development, the leader of a Christian network has said.Reverend Sam Malunga, founder of the Tehillar Christian Network, said this after making prayers recently with pastors under the Omega Fire Ministries from Uganda and Nigeria at Parliament Building ahead of the official opening of the House by President Mugabe next Tuesday.
“Parliamentarians must serve people selflessly and all members across the political divide must rally behind President Mugabe whom God raised to be the torch bearer of the liberation of Zimbabwe,” he said.
The pastors were conducting a prayer tour to intercede and pray for the Parliament and the country’s leadership.
“We also call on all people of Zimbabwe to be resilient against western machinations designed to undermine the independence of Zimbabwe through the imposition of illegal sanctions,” the reverend said.
Pastor Paul Adogamhe from Nigeria prophesied that Zimbabwe was under God’s covering and the nation would prosper under the leadership of President Mugabe, who was God-fearing.
“I see peace and prosperity upon Zimbabwe. Christians and all Zimbabweans must help the country to find solutions instead of complaining and finding fault in others,” he said.
“You must work to complement Government efforts in its various endeavours to develop the country.”
